C.Y. initially developed his skills as a development engineer while working for General Dynamics on the Navy’s STANDARD Missile system. Ultimately being designated as the Round Design Agent (Chief Engineer) for the system, he was responsible for the design, performance, and reliability of the Navy's premier surface-to-air supersonic missile system. Serving in that capacity, he provided engineering support for system integration, design evaluation, failure analyses, and component modification development.
In 1994, he founded Zytex Instruments, Ltd., a company formed to provide telemetry data systems and displays for use in the television broadcast of auto races. Formed with an initial investment of less than $50,000, the company was ultimately sold to Sports Line, Inc. (www.sportsline.com) a subsidiary of CBS Television, in a $12 million transaction. He received his B.S. in Engineering from the United States Naval Academy, after which he served as an officer and Naval Aviator in the United States Marine Corps.
